Use a ceramic bowl to put pressure on the sprout, so they grow shorter and fatter.

Day 5 -
  1. Jun 13, 2020
  2. 12:13:00 AM

About 20% of the sprouted to 10cm tall, so I will leave them overnight and harvest in the morning.

The previous bowl that put pressure on the sprouts didn't work that well, so I change to a plate with flatter base. Also I might have put the pressure plate one day too late.

Time to harvest. The most time consuming part is cutting away the roots from the sprouts.

I was hoping the roots penetrated the cloth would make cutting the root away easier, but it only save about 30% time while causing more wastage. This is due to the fact that the sprouts didn't grow in a compact and uniform way.

A tray of sprouts is probably only good for a single meal.

From the time of soaking the beans in water until harvest, it takes 4 full days.
