Prepare some containers.
Scoop the soil up to remove the plants without damaging the roots.

Red Bayam / Amaranthus. Cut off the roots with 2 to 3 inches of stem.
The root is very long, so I need a deep pot. I don't have much soil to spare, so I experiment with 1.5L bottle.
Cut off the top of the bottle.

A small clove grows roots.
Probably need to transplant to bigger pot soon.
The remaining 3 cloves in outdoor water: no sprouts or roots.
Outdoor soil: sprouting well.
Indoor soil: still the same size. Maybe need to put it outdoor?
Indoor water: growing well after transplant to water bottle.
The tallest they could grow in wet paper towel is probably 1 to 2cm.
