Day 11 of Japanese Cardboard Box Compost

The official document says put 15L of cocopeat with 10L of rice husk ash.

I soaked the cocopeat in water and squeezed out the extra water.

I didn't measure them, but I decide to fill one layer of cocopeat (about 3~4 inches), fill them with food waste part by part before creating another layer.

I use my food waste to make 2 weeks enzyme, after which I transfer the waste into this box. I separate the box into 4 parts, each time filling one part with kitchen waste (cover and bury it). I mark the filled part with a stone, so that I move to the next empty part next time. One all four parts are filled, I will add a new layer of cocopeat.

I mix in coffee grounds as well.

I cover the cocopeat with a layer of newspaper to keep moisture and protect them from insect infestation.

I use an old t-shirt as cover for the box. I put the box at the balcony (preferably someplace with more heat/sun).
