#22: Grow Red Onion From Kitchen

It grows some nice roots.

The roots have grown plenty and long, but no sprouts.

Finally sprouted.

Sprouting.

Sprouting well.

New leaves growing well.

Leaves are 6.5 inches tall.

Leaves are 9 inches tall.

Wife need some spring onion for cooking, so I painfully snip the longest leave. Need a few more of these for daily kitchen use.

This plant is very healthy. It probably need more nutrient to grow bigger.

My most successful onion green growth.

Still doing well growing on water without any nutrients, albeit some yellowing and drying of leaves.

Experiment with fertilizer in water by putting in a small amount of humus.

Seems to be doing well (at least no side effects) after 1 week in the diluted humus fertilizer.

After 80 days, I believe this plant has grown beyond its peak.

Spray some Enzyme to counter black mold.

Harvest of garlic and onion green.

Finally drying up with no more greens.
