The is only one red onion left in the kitchen, and it is a twin onion. The onion doesn't look fresh, so I have my doubt.
I saw a cool DIY video make use of a plastic bottle to grow red onion in water.
I put it indoor next to a window.

This plant is very healthy. It probably need more nutrient to grow bigger.
Still doing well growing on water without any nutrients, albeit some yellowing and drying of leaves.
Experiment with fertilizer in water by putting in a small amount of humus.
Seems to be doing well (at least no side effects) after 1 week in the diluted humus fertilizer.
After 80 days, I believe this plant has grown beyond its peak.
