#2: Regrow Garlic From Kitchen Bulb (Water And Soil)

  1. 🌱 Garlic

I take a glove of garlic from the kitchen and break a few cloves.

I accidentally remove the garlic skin of a few cloves, but I plant them anyway.

I try both water and soil planting.

It is hard for the garlic to stand in a container, so I fill it up with some peebles. Make sure the root part is down and pointy part is up. Fill enough water to cover 0.5 to 1 cm of the clove.

I get some garden soil from my mom and fill some containers with it. I push the clove into the soil and water it. Make sure the containers have drainage holes. It would be better to use container with at lease 2 inch of depth, as mine are too shallow to cover the clove with soil.

I put them on the shady part of my balcony.

I read that problem with store bought garlic is that it might be sprayed with growth inhibitors, so it is better to get organic ones. Mine are probably imported and not organic.

The original pot is 11in in diameter, but sadly the bottom is much narrower.
